"Be careful not to make a show of your righteousness before people. If you do so, you do not gain anything from your Father in heaven." - Matthew 6:1. - Life is more about why we do a thing than what it is we do. Even religion can become more about pride than it is about piety. When we do a thing in order to have others see us doing it, it's self-love, not the love of God, that drives us.
